How does iMate work?
Our extension is designed to help you pass interviews without ever needing to leave your current browser tab. During an interview, simply press a hotkey to send either a text query or a screenshot of the active tab. You’ll receive the answer via a Telegram bot on your mobile device or as a discreet overlay directly on the same tab — undetectable and seamless.
How does iMate remain undetectable during interviews?
The extension operates entirely in the background, making it invisible to the website you’re interacting with. Websites have no way of detecting what requests are being sent or received. Moreover, we've addressed a common issue: many modern platforms override native browser APIs to block external tools. Our solution captures native function behavior before the website loads and uses those safe, unaltered versions throughout — ensuring consistent and undetectable performance.
What types of interviews does iMate support?
1. Coding Challenge
Submit your task using either a text query or screenshot — whichever is more convenient.
2. Technical Interview with Live Coding
The interviewer may provide a link to a collaborative online code editor. If screen sharing is required, use your mobile device to view responses. If not, you can use overlay mode or Telegram — your choice.
3. System Design Round
Typically involves a shared whiteboard. Based on whether you're asked to share your screen or not, choose the appropriate method: mobile view or in-tab overlay.
Is my data secure and private?
Absolutely. We use enterprise-grade encryption and follow strict privacy protocols. Your interview data is never stored permanently and is completely deleted after each session to ensure maximum privacy and security.
Does it work?
One of our iMate developers was recently invited to interview at Yandex — and made it through 4 rounds:
- 1 behavioral interview,
- 2 live coding sessions,
- and 1 system design round.
Each session included a few off-topic or irrelevant questions (especially the system design one) — but the iMate browser extension captured them in real time and delivered accurate, up-to-date responses that helped navigate the process confidently.
He passed all rounds — but chose not to accept the offer, because building iMate offers far more room for growth and impact.
